What we can help remove

Show us the appliance and its connections

Send the appliance type, approximate dimensions and a photo showing where it is located. Mention stairs, narrow doorways and whether it is built in. Refrigerators and other equipment may have additional disposal requirements that affect acceptance and price.

Before your pickup

Empty food, water and personal items before pickup. Have gas, water, electrical or built-in connections safely disconnected by a qualified person when necessary. Do not cut refrigerant lines or dismantle cooling equipment. Ask DHS to confirm the preparation requirements for your appliance.

Tell us about affected items first

Report suspected or known bed bugs, pests or contamination before pickup. Affected items stay out of the donation stream, including items that were cleaned, wrapped or reportedly treated. Read our bed bug item removal and preparation process. Specialty pickups are coordinated with Lowry Place Residential Services and require a custom estimate and handling review.

Clear pricing before the work

Ordinary hauling has a $95 minimum. The guide is $150 for a quarter load, $350 for a half load, $500 for a three-quarter load and $850 for a full load. Prices may vary with the actual items, access and site conditions. Oversized items and loads over a full load need a custom estimate. DHS confirms pricing before work begins.

A free estimate is not free hauling. Reusable items are considered for donation or recycling when accepted; donation of every item is not guaranteed.

Request, review, then confirm

  1. Tell us what needs to go. Choose your items, pickup address, access details and preferred timing in the guided booking form.
  2. DHS reviews your request. We review scope, handling requirements, pricing and availability. An online request is not a confirmed appointment.
  3. Confirm the pickup plan. After DHS confirms the job, keep approved items accessible and set aside anything you want to keep.

Appliance removal questions

Will DHS disconnect my appliance?
