What we can help clear

Work backward from your move-out date

Tell DHS your deadline, when the property can be accessed and which items are approved for removal. A small furniture pickup and a full turnover need different plans. Wide photos of each area help us understand the amount, while photos of stairs, corners and parking show the carrying route.

Separate the keep pile from the removal pile

Set aside moving boxes, documents, keys and personal belongings that must stay. Use a clear list or marked photos for items DHS should remove. For rentals and managed properties, identify the person authorized to approve the scope and coordinate access. Do not include belongings whose removal has not been authorized.

Building access matters as much as the deadline

Mention elevator reservations, loading hours, parking limits and long carrying distances. Tell DHS if the property will be occupied during the pickup. Same-day or next-day service may be available, but a requested date is not a reserved appointment. DHS must review the scope, access and availability first.

How the estimate works

Ordinary hauling is a paid service with a $95 minimum. Our standard guide is $150 for a quarter load, $350 for a half load, $500 for a three-quarter load and $850 for a full load. All prices may vary after DHS reviews the actual items and site conditions. Oversized items and loads over a full load require an estimate. DHS confirms pricing before work begins.

For a larger or uncertain move-out, request a free on-site estimate so DHS can review the actual load and conditions.

Donation when items are suitable and accepted

Usable items are considered for donation or recycling when a receiving organization accepts them. Hauling is not free because an item may be donated, and donation of every item is not guaranteed.

Tell DHS about affected items first

Report suspected or known bed bugs, pests or contamination before pickup. Affected items stay out of donation, even after cleaning, wrapping or reported treatment. DHS coordinates specialty pickups with Lowry Place Residential Services after staff review. Removal is not pest treatment.

See bed bug item removal and our preparation guide before moving affected belongings.

From request to confirmed pickup

  1. Start with the scope. Choose the service, items, pickup address and access details in the guided form.
  2. Share your timing. Request a preferred date and an arrival window of at least 30 minutes. Availability depends on the location, job and schedule.
  3. Wait for DHS confirmation. A successful online request is pending DHS review. It does not confirm a price or reserve an appointment.

Moving & property turnover cleanouts questions

Is this a moving service for belongings I am keeping?

This page is for hauling items you want removed during a move, downsizing or property turnover. Confirm any other requested work with DHS before scheduling; do not assume transportation of belongings you are keeping is included.

Can you clear only the items left after a move?

Yes. Identify the approved items, provide access details and tell DHS the deadline. Keep boxes and belongings that must remain separate from the removal area.

Does an online request reserve my move-out date?

No. DHS reviews the request and confirms scope, pricing and availability before an appointment is agreed. Call if your move-out deadline is close.

Tell us what needs to go.

Share the materials, access and timing. DHS will review the request and contact you about the next step.
