What we can help clear

Describe the materials before the load

Send an approximate quantity and photos of the debris, including what is underneath or mixed into the pile. Tell DHS about heavy materials such as tile, concrete, brick, dirt or roofing debris. Weight, material type and disposal requirements may matter more than how much space a pile takes up.

Agree on what is ready for hauling

Identify the approved pile and keep tools, new materials and items you are retaining separate. Explain whether the material is already detached and accessible or whether you are asking about additional work. Do not assume demolition, structural work or utility disconnection is included in a debris pickup.

Flag special materials and site access

Disclose paint, chemicals, sharp objects and suspected asbestos- or lead-containing debris before scheduling. Do not mix hazardous or unidentified materials into an ordinary hauling load; DHS must review acceptance and handling requirements. Include loading access, stairs, parking, site-contact details and any restrictions on work hours.

How the estimate works

Ordinary hauling is a paid service with a $95 minimum. Our standard guide is $150 for a quarter load, $350 for a half load, $500 for a three-quarter load and $850 for a full load. All prices may vary after DHS reviews the actual items and site conditions. Oversized items and loads over a full load require an estimate. DHS confirms pricing before work begins.

Heavy, dense, oversized or mixed-material loads require a custom estimate. Ordinary volume-based prices do not automatically apply to concrete, dirt or other heavy debris. Material acceptance and the disposal destination must be reviewed before confirmation.

Donation when items are suitable and accepted

Usable items are considered for donation or recycling when a receiving organization accepts them. Hauling is not free because an item may be donated, and donation of every item is not guaranteed.

Tell DHS about affected items first

Report suspected or known bed bugs, pests or contamination before pickup. Affected items stay out of donation, even after cleaning, wrapping or reported treatment. DHS coordinates specialty pickups with Lowry Place Residential Services after staff review. Removal is not pest treatment.

From request to confirmed pickup

  1. Start with the scope. Choose the service, items, pickup address and access details in the guided form.
  2. Share your timing. Request a preferred date and an arrival window of at least 30 minutes. Availability depends on the location, job and schedule.
  3. Wait for DHS confirmation. A successful online request is pending DHS review. It does not confirm a price or reserve an appointment.

Construction debris removal questions

Can you quote construction debris from photos?

Photos and a description help DHS review the materials, amount and access. Heavy, mixed or uncertain loads may require an on-site estimate before the final scope and price are agreed.

Do ordinary load prices apply to concrete or dirt?

Not automatically. Heavy materials require review of weight, handling, access and disposal requirements. Ask DHS for a custom estimate rather than relying on an ordinary volume-based load price.

Is demolition included in debris removal?

Do not assume demolition or disconnection is included. Explain what is already detached and ready to haul, and discuss any additional work with DHS before scheduling.

Tell us what needs to go.

Share the materials, access and timing. DHS will review the request and contact you about the next step.
